FSA Loses IFA Harassment Court BlockFSA Loses IFA Harassment Court Block.

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has lost its case to quash a case brought by a retired IFA who is suing the FSA for harassment.

John Calland who retired as principal of Calland Insurance and Mortgage Services in 1997 is suing the FSA under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.

He is alleging the FSA, the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) and the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) worked together to unfairly progress loss assessments and solicit pension complaints from former clients.

Calland is now 72 and has been involved in a 10 year battle with the 3 authorities, which has seen the FSCS reprimanded for bullying and the FOS reproached for soliciting complaints.

The FSA intend to appeal against the county court judgment.
