The Financial Services Authority (FSA) will be be conducting reviews of small firms later this year, following completion of their regional Business Risk Awareness Workshops.

According to Simplybiz managing director Matthew Timmins, the FSA is likely to pay specific attention to investment suitability and whether the outcome of the advice matches with the clients’ attitude to risk.

The FSA is to hold a series of workshops to inform advisers of what to expect from the reviews. The reviews will also look at the financial soundness of firms and their ability to continue to provide products and services to customers.
