An Overview of Unfair Contract Terms

The Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations have been in force since the 1st July 1995 and apply to standard form contract terms that have not been individually negotiated with clients.

This would typically be your 'Terms of Business' or 'Client Agreements' as they should now be called.

Bear in mind that a ‘consumer’ is termed as any natural person who is acting for purposes that are outside his trade, business or profession.
