IFADU Human Rights

We have talked with IFADU leaders on Human Rights.

They believe if the regulator breaches section 6(1) of the Human Rights Act 1998, where it is illegal for a public authority to act in a way incompatible with the European Convention on Human Rights then the regulator is answerable.

The IFADU has pursued this cause and we support them in that - but we suggest funding test cases over the long term to the European Court of Human Rights needs huge cash funding resources.

To complement the IFADU efforts and to create a "second front" on making the FSA accountable, we suggest a simple change in law i.e. making the FSA accountable for its actions or lack of action may be more successful and easier to implement, monitor and enforce.
