Statements of FSA Principles and Code of Practice for Approved Persons

The Statements of FSA Principles and Code of Practice for Approved Persons determines whether or not an approved person’s conduct complies with a Statement of FSA Principles.

The FSA Principles stipulates that the factors determining whether or not a breach of the code of practice has arisen are:

  • Whether that conduct relates to activities that are subject to other provisions of the handbook
  • Whether that conduct is consistent with the requirements and standards of the regulatory system relevant to his/her firm.

The FSA expects approved persons to comply with the FSA Principles and Code of Practice laid down in this sourcebook. They must be satisfied that approved persons do and will continue to comply in relation to their permitted regulatory activities.

The rules contained within the Statements of FSA Principles and Code of Practice for Approved Persons sourcebook are High Level Standards and having a full understanding of them and what your obligations are, are therefore essential.
